On May 10, the Haus der Natur had a stand at the spring market. The sunny weather and the great stands and activities attracted many people to Münsterplatz again this year. This year's stand was all about wild bees - why are they so important? What threatens them? And what distinguishes them from honey bees?

The wild bee showcase in particular caught the eye of many visitors, who were amazed at how many different species there are. The fact that half of the almost 600 wild bee species are threatened with extinction was thought-provoking. This was an opportunity to talk about what needs to be done and what we can do ourselves to protect these important pollinators.

Of course, there was also something for younger visitors: They could test their own knowledge with the wild bee quiz. But the highlight was definitely our pollen collection game, which allowed children to slip into the role of a honey bee and was very popular.
