An exciting program also took place on 10 May at the Haus der Natur to mark World Migratory Bird Day. In the morning, interested participants took part in a two-hour bird tour to learn about migratory bird species and how they are affected by climate change.

In the afternoon, the Secretariat of the Bonn Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (UNEP/CMS) and the City of Bonn organized a reception on the topic of "Shared habitats - making cities and communities bird-friendly". In front of the Haus der Natur, two interactive stands delighted visitors to the Waldau. Children and families enthusiastically made bird masks, folded origami cranes, took part in a migratory bird quiz or went on a short guided tour to the nearby bird observation hut.
